Deacons

Phil Carpenter

Phil grew up in Norwalk and graduated from Belmont University in Nashville, TN. Phil and his family (Heidi, Malachi) began attending Westkirk in 2017 and became members shortly thereafter. In 2018, Phil began to serve as a deacon primarily responsible for Westkirk’s finances. In his spare time Phil enjoys golfing, cycling and coaching youth sports.

Tom Duff

Tom Duff has been at Westkirk since 1998.  He and his wife Benae were married here and now have 3 adult children.  Tom has served in various capacities including Stephen Ministry, Elder,  Children's Ministry, Sound Technician, and on the Stream Team.  When not at work as a Data Platform Engineer at EMC Insurance Companies, Tom enjoys college athletics, reading, and lifting weights. What Tom appreciates most is through all of Westkirk’s worship, evangelism, discipleship, and fellowship,  the common theme is pointing/directing yourself and each other towards Christ.

eric Turner

Professionally, Eric has practiced law for 45 years. He and his wife, Lisa, have been married since 1990, and have three sons, two of whom are married, with the third soon to be married. They began attending Westkirk in 2020 and became members in 2021 after many years in another denominational church whose biblical convictions had diverged from their own. They were drawn to Westkirk by its faithful expository preaching of God’s Word and have also been deeply blessed by its worshipful music. Over the years, they have enjoyed building relationships within the congregation and have been encouraged by the broad range of ages represented, especially the many young families who bring vitality to the church. Eric has sung in the choir since joining Westkirk, and together he and Lisa participate in an active small group.
